A new season is set to begin for the City of Vision’s youth choruses.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, the Children’s Chorus of Rio Rancho will begin rehearsing for the season at 12:30 p.m. with the Rio Rancho Youth Chorus following at 2 p.m. The children’s chorus is for those ages 7-11, while the youth chorus runs ages 12-18. Rehearsals take place on the second floor of 4311 Sara Road SE.

Saturday’s rehearsal is a time for the singers to get to know their directors, sing and learn about what the semester will bring. There will also be a parent meeting on scheduling and procedural information as well as registration.

Rehearsals will follow each Saturday until the combined concert at 2 p.m. May 13-14. The CCRR rehearsals run 12:30-1:45 p.m. with RRYC following from 2-4 p.m. Both choruses accept singers of all experience levels and backgrounds.

Pieces for the CCRR for this season include “All My Heart Shall Sing,” “Obiswana” and “Let Me Entertain You.” The RRYC will work in the theme of “Life in Color” with selections such as “Over The Rainbow,” “Blue Skies” and “Song Of Purple Summer.”
