Exevius Seals spent two decades protecting and serving as a New Mexico State Police officer. Now retired, Seals wants to help people in a different way with X-Tactics Training and Performance Systems.

Seals, a master fitness trainer, opened X-Tactics to help people get healthy and learn to defend themselves.

“Basically, our primary focus is on personal training. We do have open gym, gym memberships, we do firearms training, stuff like that,” Seals said. “We also do like home invasion training. People are kicking in doors and there’s high crime rates; not so much in Rio Rancho.”

Seals was joined by family, friends, members of the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Gregg Hull and Chamber President Jerry Schalow Thursday afternoon to celebrate the grand opening of X-Tactics with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“It represents a bigger, greater investment in our community because you’re not only investing yourself in the community as a business, you’re investing yourself in other people’s lives to give them a better lifestyle, a healthier lifestyle, healthier options and a way to physically train which, by the way, I probably would benefit from,” Hull said. “But anyway, I just want to say on behalf of myself, on behalf of the City Council, we want to say thank you for your continued commitment to the city of Rio Rancho, your continued investment. We wish you the best, and we the best of luck and the best of blessings in all that you do. Congratulations.”

X-Tactics, located at 2003 Southern Blvd. SE Suite 135, right next to Slate Street, also offers services for young athletes.

“We also do intramural sports training for kids,” Seals said. “I have a lot of young children that come in that I train personally. Just to get them focused, mentor them.”

Seals offers training from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with other trainers on staff working varying hours and days. To book a training session or get a membership, call 505-891-2452 or email [email protected].

“We look forward to your outstanding success in Rio Rancho,” Schalow said. “We’ve had so many businesses open this year, and it’s great to add you to a group of great businesses that have invested in our community. We expect great success for this year, next year and we’ll watch it just continue to expand.”
