Albuquerque National Weather Service released a wind advisory for this afternoon and a freeze watch for tonight.
They said, ” Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
Due to the strong winds, the temperature will dip down tonight as well.
The weather service also recommends that people tie down any loose objects and wrap up any delicate plants.
Today
There will be a slight chance of showers before 1 pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 pm and 4 pm. It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 51 and a low around 31. It will be windy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
