A Rio Rancho resident is facing a battery charge after attacking her husband with a knife.

Officers with the Rio Rancho Police Department contacted Jeremy O’Leary and his wife Caryssa O’Leary in reference to an in-progress domestic dispute on Feb. 2.

According to the criminal complaint, Jeremy picked up Caryssa from a medical center two days before the incident.

He said the first two days were normal, but that morning when the fight happened she accused him of having an affair with her mother and sister.

Caryssa then allegedly attacked Jeremy with a a kitchen knife and cut him across the chest and shin. According to the report, Jeremy declined EMS support because the cuts were “superficial.”

Jeremy had bruises and bite marks in addition to the cuts. He had a bruise on his temple from her punching him with her wedding ring on.

Caryssa, who was also interviewed, said she believed Jeremy was cheating on her with her mom and her sister and that Jeremy is the father of her sister’s children.

She also said Jeremy wasn’t letting her eat anything and was trying to kill her.

She told officers that he came at her with the knife so she bit him and grabbed it away from him. She didn’t deny cutting him or punching him.

She then said he was planning to conduct a drive-by shooting at the medical center she went to and that he is responsible for multiple homicides in Colorado.

Caryssa was charged with aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon. She was sent to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
