Jeremy Lambert, 46, of Albuquerque, was summoned for aggravated assault upon a peace officer and aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer after police lost him Aug. 2 near Zaragoza Road.

Officers were driving in the area near Southern Blvd. and Unser Blvd. and saw a black Mustang driving next to them. They recognized Lambert from previous encounters with him that resulted in a warrant for his arrest.

Lambert pulled into the Sonic on Southern Blvd., and police followed. As officers were stepping out of their units, Lambert revved the engine of the Mustang, did not listen to any police commands and reversed the car toward a police unit. An officer, who later said they were in fear of being battered by Lambert, took several steps behind their vehicle as Lambert drove at them.

Lambert crashed into the front of the police unit and then drove forward over a curb before leaving the scene, exiting the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

Officers searched the area but failed to find Lambert.

If Lambert is found and convicted, he could face five to 25 years.
