Over 25 years, Rio Rancho Public Schools has evolved into one of New Mexico’s top-performing districts across all categories: Academics (85-plus percent graduation rate) and recognitions for its science, math and fine arts students and athletes, who in 2018-19 alone brought eight state or district championships back home.
Our quality schools, in turn, have attracted and retained families and employers. They place high value on good schools, along with public safety and health services. It’s our Rio Rancho trifecta.
All of us — parents and non-parents alike — can be proud of what the district has brought to our community.
That’s why I join with other business and community leaders to urge your “yes” vote on Tuesday for the RRPS bond.
The $60 million bond will fund projects for students while not raising your tax rate. These projects include expansion of career technical education, replacing old heating and air conditioning units, improving information technology infrastructure and replacing worn artificial turf on athletic fields.
Quality isn’t free. We need to re-invest to keep it…as we have for 25 years.
