The new Vista Bosque Townhomes are designed to cater to any and all people eyeing quality housing at an affordable price.

Despite setbacks brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and limited availability of building material, construction on the new housing complex is projected to be completed Nov. 1.

Vista Bosque Townhomes are going up at the intersection of Meadowlark Lane and Eileen Road in southeast Rio Rancho.

“We’re really excited. It’s been a long time coming… We’re really excited to provide affordable housing for the people of Rio Rancho,” said Deacon Property Services Maintenance Manager Jadah Salinas, who’s overseeing the development of Vista Bosque Townhomes. “Intel’s got a lot of new hires that they’re going to be doing, so the timing is actually perfect. It’s a beautiful neighborhood, and you can’t beat it with those views.”

Depending on the layout, Salinas said, the townhouses will feature two- and three-bedroom floor plans that come with individual backyards and balcony views facing east. Other amenities will include CenturyLink internet service, high-efficiency appliances and garages.

Salinas said the units will be pet-friendly, while balcony views will be “gorgeous and brilliant.”

“Every single tenant is going to have that gorgeous view of the bosque,” Salinas said.

She said the homes will be energy-efficient, and everything will be water-conscious and on irrigation timers.

“It really will kind of be no-hassle living and yard maintenance, as far as that goes,” she said.

Salinas said the townhomes will be more like “transitional properties” where one can save up money toward homeownership.

The townhouse options, ranging from not quite $1,600 to just over $1,900 a month, are two bedrooms with 2½ bathrooms and one- or two-car garages, and three bedrooms with 3½ bathrooms and two-car garages.

Salinas said anyone who applies for and passes credit and background checks is eligible to live in the complex. She also said Deacon Properties is finalizing a time frame to start pre-leasing any of the 50 units.

Salinas said prospective tenants and the general public can visit facebook.com/vistabosque for updates. Floor plans and application information are also there.

Vista Bosque Townhomes will start taking applications in October.

“You really do get a feel of being in a single-family home rather than in a townhome community. For the prices that we’re offering, we feel like it’s really one of the best deals around,” Salinas said. “As rent just continues to skyrocket in the state, we find that affordable housing is actually becoming very hard to come by.”
