BERNALILLO – The Sandoval County Commission is set to vote on whether to switch employee health insurance to a plan administered in-house instead of the current City of Albuquerque plan.

The matter is the sole item on the agenda for a special meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday.

“The transition of the employee benefits package from the City of Albuquerque plan to an in-house administered plan, through the assistance of an employee health plan broker, allows the opportunity for Sandoval County to have more control over the procurement, implementation, benefit cost, plan design and administration of the benefit plan for county employees,” according to county information.

The meeting is open to the public in-person or can be watched via livestream at sandovalcountynm.gov. People can give public comment in-person or online by clicking here.
