Julie Esquibel, about 42, of Albuquerque, was arrested at Denny’s on Unser Blvd. for possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance Sept. 24.
Officers were called to Denny’s at 4:53 p.m. for a welfare check. Callers said there were three people passed out in a car.
Officers found three people “slumped over” in the car. An officer opened the door to check on them and saw various drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
The three subjects were pulled out of the vehicle. The rear passenger, Esquibel, had an open bag of fentanyl on her belt and was taken into custody. Officers also found some burnt foil where she was sitting.
If convicted, Esquibel could serve more than three years in prison.
