St. Felix Pantry and the Garza family McDonald’s are pairing up to provide free Thanksgiving meals.

On Thanksgiving Day, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. free meals will be given out at the McDonald’s drive-thru at 1390 Rio Rancho Blvd. SE in Rio Rancho, near Smith’s Food and Drug Store.

There will be 400 refrigerated Thanksgiving meals for folks to take home. After those are taken, residents can get McDonald’s meals free. The Thanksgiving meals will be provided by Garcia’s Kitchen.

Funding for the meals was sponsored by a donor who preferred not to be identified.

The Thanksgiving meals are given on a first-come, first-served basis and will be cold and refrigerated, “so people can take them home,” said St. Felix Director of Development Rachael Miletkov.

“We are going to just take everyone who is in the car (for meals), so if you have a large van and you can fit 12 people, that’s how many will be distributed,” she said.

“It’s now 30 years that the Garza family has donated the space and time for the community to have a Thanksgiving meal,” Miletkov added.
