This weekend the Fiery Foods and BBQ Show is back for its annual scorching in Albuquerque, and one of Rio Rancho’s own is exhibiting.

“We have done it for 10 maybe 12 years. We serve caramel, chocolate and mustard with spicy and not spicy flavors,” Sweet and Saucy co-owner Erin Jones said.

Sweet and Saucy is a family-owned and operated business which runs out of the owner’s home in Northern Meadows.

The business has been going on since 2002, when Erin and Jane Jones decided to make gifts for their employees at the time.

“Now, we serve about 27 caramel and chocolate flavors plus 10 mustard flavors,” Jones said.

Her personal favorite is the Cinnamon Caramel.

“Four out of the five of us will be there this year. It takes a lot of people to run it because we have to hand people their samples. They don’t just come up and grab it,” Jones says.

If the next taster’s mouth is still on fire from the last booth, Jones says they get a plain chocolate or caramel to cool off their tongue.

“We use dairy-based products, and that always seems to do the trick,” she said.

While people can have their order shipped to their house, they can also pick it up from the Jones residence to avoid delivery fees.

More information about Sweet and Saucy can be found on the festival’s website.

Additionally, the Fiery Foods and BBQ Show will be going on this weekend (March 3-5), and tickets are sold online or at the Sandia Resort and Casino Box Office.
