The Placitas Library “All Together Now” kids reading program will start at noon July 6.

The program will continue at 1 p.m. Saturdays through July 29.

All programs are free and open to the public from all communities. 

“The theme ‘All Together Now’ emphasizes working, playing and living together with friendship and kindness,” reads a press release from the library.

There will be four programs over the course of July:

Noon Thursday, July 6: The Wonders on Wheels Mobile Museum will visit with two exhibits: the landscapes of New Mexico artist Gustav Baumann and marionettes.  Afterward, kids can make their own marionette in the library.  This museum is provided by the Cultural Affairs Department of New Mexico. 

1 p.m. Saturday, July 15: “Sing All Together Now” with Aspen Black, cowgirl, teaching artist and performer. Sing, dance and read aloud in this program about friendship, kindness and unity. 

1 p.m. Saturday, July 22: “Let’s Polka” with Mike Schneider of Pint Size Polkas.  Learn about and enjoy the fun that is polka and the accordion.

1 p.m. Saturday, July 29: “Playing Together!” The summer with puzzles, games, coloring, Legos and La Loteria (Mexican Bingo). Participants can enjoy refreshments and receive a prize bag for participating.  Special prizes awarded to the program’s top readers.

 “Each week your child will receive a new book for attending these programs, plus there will be additional opportunities to receive prizes including participating in our reading and kind deed challenges,” reads the release.
