The New Mexico Activities Association is holding its first state prep powerlifting meet Saturday in the Rio Rancho High School gymnasium.
There will be 96 boys and 79 girls competing in 12 weight classes for each gender from 17 high schools across the state. There are three “events” for powerlifters – squat, bench and dead-lift – totaled to determine awards.
The doors open at 9 a.m. and the first lifts should start at 10. There is no charge for admission.
