Santa Fe Police Department identified a recent homicide victim as Aaron Garcia, a 50-year-old of Santo Domingo Pueblo (Kewa Pueblo).

Kewa Pueblo is a federally-recognized tribe of Native American Pueblo people in northern New Mexico, in Sandoval County southwest of Santa Fe.

On Sept. 22, around 6:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of the Santa Fe County/NM 599 Rail Runner Station, after a deceased man under a bridge was reported.
Officers arrived on scene and located the deceased male, who appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma to his head. Detectives were summoned and are investigating this case as a homicide.
Detectives are working leads at this time and are asking for anyone who may have information on this case to contact the Santa Fe Police Department.
