The Sandoval County Treasurer’s Office sent out a notice last week warning of a possible phishing scam.
The office said a recorded deed notice had been sent out by an entity that has no affiliation with any government agency.
The mailed notice asks homeowners to send $109 to obtain a copy of a property assessment profile and a grant deed. It goes on to say that the assessment can be used to verify that property information is recorded correctly, as mistakes can happen with property taxes. The letter asks for the payment to be sent to an address in California.
Anyone who has received one of these notices is advised to disregard it.
Any questions regarding this matter can be addressed by the Sandoval County Treasurer’s Office at 505-867-7581.
