The Sandoval County Commission held a moment of silence at the Sept. 13 meeting to honor Jemez Police Department Christopher French, who died earlier this month.
French had a career of more than 30 years in law enforcement. He was the criminal investigator with the pueblo of Jemez Police Department. French also worked with the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office and as a police officer with the city of Rio Rancho.
District 5 Commissioner Joshua Jones spoke about French at the meeting.
“He’s a caring, considerate person with a big heart and was in law enforcement, and helping the community was his life’s work,” Jones said.
French was laid to rest on Sunday with memorial services being held at the Rio Rancho Events Center on Monday.
