Rio Rancho Public Schools will be hosting Parent U sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday to inform parents on what the district has going on this school year.
RRPS has implemented a new security system at Cleveland High School and plans to install it in multiple schools district-wide. The first Parent U session off the 2023-34 school will be Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. with officials from the RRPS Safety and Security Department will go over what the system is, how it works, and what it is doing to make schools safer places to learn for students.
The Parent U session on Wednesday will also run from noon to 1 p.m. This session review this year’s district-wide attendance plan.
RRPS has set a goal to reduce chronic absenteeism in the district by 20% this year. The attendance plan was created to help administration, teachers, students and parents accomplish this goal. During the session, district officials will break down the plan and explain what the staff is doing and what parents can do to help lower chronic absenteeism in the district this year.
Job fair
Rio Rancho Public Schools is hosting a job fair Tuesday at the District Office Training Center from 3-5 p.m.
The district has open positions and is especially looking for teachers, education assistants, substitutes and food service employees.
People should be ready to apply on the spot for potential jobs.
