Why have you decided to run for the Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education? To be a voice for the schools and our community.
What is the most-pressing issue within Rio Rancho Public Schools? Making sure the teachers and students have what they need to succeed.
What are your priorities for the district in the coming year? Make sure teachers salaries are competitive and meet the needs of the students.
The current makeup of the school board voiced its concerns at an August meeting for more local control. What are your thoughts on that? We need more local control.
What skills do you have to offer and are willing to use on behalf of the organization? Commitment, business mindset, integrity, compassion, caring spirit.
How can you improve this board of education? Always to challenge for the sake of the kids.
Prior to declaring your intentions to run, how often did you attend school board meetings? Being an existing member, just about every board meeting I attended.
What would you like to tell voters — maybe even a promise — that you’ll make happen if elected? I will be committed to help prepare our kids for the future.
What can you do as a board member to help improve student achievement? Make sure we have the tools for them to succeed.
