(Garrison Wells/Observer)

The Rio Rancho Police Department had officers out Friday night checking for DWIs.

They were posted on Unser Blvd. near the intersection at Northern Blvd.

The department earlier had posted that it would be holding ENDWI throughout the city in August.

Here is the original story from The Observer.

The Rio Rancho Police Department has planned ENDWI enforcement patrols, such as DWI checkpoints and/or saturation patrols, throughout the city for the month of August 2022. Officers will actively seek out traffic violations and will also concentrate on those indicative of intoxicated driving.

Citizens are encouraged to take an active role in their community and report suspected drunk drivers by calling 911.
