ALBUQUERQUE – Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience announces Beyond Yoga, a weekly three-dimensional yoga experience that includes Rio Rancho yoga studios at the art exhibit.
In Beyond Van Gogh, held in Albuquerque’s Sawmill District, the artist’s work “is liberated from its two-dimensional limitations and invites guests into a three-dimensional experience that exhilarates every sense,” according to a news release on the show. “To date, the exhibit has sold more than 2.5 million tickets globally, making it one of the most popular current traveling exhibitions.”
Yoga studios, including Blissful Spirits Hot Yoga and Vivify Hot Yoga from Rio Rancho, will offer classes in the tranquil setting of the Immersive Room, set to a symphonic musical score, according to the release.
“The Immersive Room is perfect for yoga classes because of its incredibly calming and peaceful effect on guests,” said David Rosenfeld, co-founder of Primo Entertainment.
Beyond Yoga is scheduled for every Thursday and Saturday through the exhibit’s Albuquerque run, which ends May 1. Classes are at 1820 Bellamah Ave. NW. Doors open at 8 a.m. and classes begin at 8:30 a.m., lasting until about 10 a.m.
They will be hosted by instructors from Albuquerque and Rio Rancho-based studios including Vivify, Blissful Spirits, Traverses Yoga and Unwind Yoga. Each studio offers a different style of yoga.
The schedule is:
- Unwind Yoga: March 24 and 26;
- Vivify Hot Yoga: March 31 and April 2, 14 and 16;
- Blissful Spirits Hot Yoga: April 7, 9, 28 and 30; and
- Traverses Yoga: April 21 and 23.
While journeying through Beyond Van Gogh:, guests witness more than 300 iconic masterpieces, including such instantly recognizable classics as “The Starry Night,” as well many self-portraits. The exhibit was created by French-Canadian Creative Director Mathieu St-Arnaud and his team at Montreal’s world-renowned Normal Studio.
