A Rio Rancho man is facing multiple charges after a shooting incident in Albuquerque this week.

Ramon Eugene Ash, 20, was arrested early Monday morning for shooting at or from a moving vehicle and negligent use of a deadly weapon.

The incident began with a fight at Knockouts in 300 block of Central Avenue NW, according to the criminal complaint. At about 1:50 a.m., a silver BMW sped through the parking lot at Second and Central, and the passenger fired 12 shots out the window at the people and other vehicles in the lot. A gun was found in a nearby alleyway. The officer responding to the fight pulled the BMW over in a parking lot at Seventh and Gold.

Ash was in the passenger seat, where a handgun was found on the floorboard. Ash said the gun was his but denied shooting from the vehicle. He also admitted the gun found in the alleyway was his, that he had dropped out of the window and had been drinking while in possession of a firearm.

A victim of the shooting was transported to Presbyterian Hospital Downtown but refused to cooperate with police and said he would not prosecute for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The BMW was sealed and towed for a future search warrant.

Ramon was transported to Lovelace Hospital downtown to receive treatment for injuries sustained in the fight and then transported to Metropolitan Detention Center, where he remains on the inmate list.
