People heading to and from Tijeras can expect to see some roadwork.
On Monday, the New Mexico Department of Transportation started a roadway rehabilitation project between Tijeras and Carnuel on Interstate 40.
Crews will work on both the eastbound and westbound lanes from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. everyday, weather permitted. Two lanes of traffic on I-40 will remain open as work is being done.
The project is expected to be completed in January 2023.
The cost of the project is about $8.1 million.
