Rio Rancho residents looking for ways to help Ukraine residents in the midst of the attack by Russia can find a way at their local Starbucks.
It’s not just coffee. Or breakfast sandwiches, or latte.
On the window at the drive-through at the Starbucks on Southern Blvd. across from the WalMart store, there is a sheet posted with information notifying customers they can make a donation at the register or by scanning a code with their cell phone.
“Send Help Today. Join The Starbucks Foundation and the Red Cross to help people affected by the Ukraine humanitarian crisis,” the note says.
Starbucks has also suspended its operations in Russia. The coffee chain has about 130 outlets in Russia and Ukraine.
Starbucks isn’t the only American company taking steps against Russia.
Intel Corp. has suspended its operations in Russia. So have McDonald’s, Heineken, Coca Cola, Netflix, Pepsi, Levis and others.
Starbucks is a major supporter of the Red Cross.
