The Rio Rancho Police Department has planned ENDWI enforcement patrols, such as DWI checkpoints and/or saturation patrols, throughout the city for the month of May 2022.
Officers will actively seek out traffic violations and will also concentrate on those indicative of intoxicated driving.
Citizens are encouraged to take an active role in their community and report suspected drunk drivers by calling 911.
The ENDWI program is a statewide initiative through New Mexico Department of Transportation that has been going on for many years to reduce DWI crashes/fatalities in New Mexico, according to Lt. Jacquelyn Reedy, Rio Rancho Police Department spokeswoman..
It is independent from any recent changes in legislation, she said.
Information regarding this initiative, to include alcohol laws, can be found through the following website https://www.endwi.com/.
