I disagree with the ranking of Rio Rancho as one of the 10 best places to live in the Southwest. I have lived in Rio Rancho for nearly 40 years. Yes, the weather is good. But the city has become heavy-handed with their policies. No weed burning was passed this year, but you better not have weeds or you get a nastygram from the city. Do you want to work on your vehicle in your driveway? Oh no! Plus, numerous other limitations on your freedom. Unfortunately, the list of regulations just keeps on growing. I am tired of this town trying to pretend they are a big city.
