The Rio Rancho High School softball team demolished visiting Los Lunas Thursday afternoon at the Eagle Ridge softball complex, 13-2.

Five Rams — Ashley Burriel, Kionna King,  Kayla Reed, Mia Flores and Labraida Tenorio — walloped home runs in the rout. Every Ram in the starting lineup had at least one hit after the second inning.

Tenorio pitched the first four innings and held the Tigers (1-2) hitless. Flores twirled the fifth and final frame, due to the 10-run mercy rule, and allowed two hits and the Tigers’ two runs, one of which was unearned.

The Rams (2-0), who won their opener Tuesday, 16-5, at Valencia are idle until next week, when they’ll be in Bullhead City, Ariz., for that annual tournament.
