Listen to the weather
Rain is on the way later today.
On rainy days, it can be nice to just sit and watch — especially here in NM — because rain is rare. Something fun that I learned as a kid is when you see lightning is to start counting the seconds between the strike and the thunder. The number of seconds equates to the number of miles away for the lightning.
“Storm coverage increases today in what will likely be the most active day for the next several days,” Albuquerque National Weather Service Meteorologist Scott Overpeck said.
Here’s today’s forecast:
There’s a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon and before midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 92 and a low around 66.
Have a good Thursday!
