The Hub @ Enchanted Hills officially opened its doors Wednesday.
The new quality-of-life center, located at 7845 Enchanted Hills Blvd. NE, features Rio Rancho’s third public library and a recreation center featuring two indoor pickleball courts. It spans 11,020 square feet.
The library is fully open and both pickleball courts are available. Due to backorder, there are currently temporary walls in place on the recreation pickleball side that will soon be replaced with permanent inner dividing walls.
The soft opening of the center was well received by the public Wednesday.
“The facility has had steady traffic so far,” city of Rio Rancho Communications Specialist Jaley Turpen said. “There are still some finishing touches that will be made to the facility.”
Mayor Gregg Hull visited The Hub and was glad to see the facility open in the area.
“As a former resident of the area, I know that northern Rio Rancho has been lacking in public recreation facilities,” Hull said. “When we were raising our kids here, we would drive them to the Esther Bone library, so I am excited for the residents to get to enjoy a library near them.”
The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and will offer books, eBooks, movies, author events, Wi-Fi connected public computers, checkout kits, printing, a public meeting room and more.
The recreation center will be open Monday through Saturday with varying hours. It will offer pickleball, dance, arts and crafts classes, special events and programs for all ages.
The city is planning a grand opening and ribbon cutting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 17. For more information on the ceremony, reserving spaces, hours of operation and more, visit rrnm.gov/4838/The-HUB.
