Three of New Mexico’s most experienced physicians involved in treating the ever-changing landscape of prostate cancer will speak Saturday, Nov. 12, at the 11th annual free conference of Prostate Cancer Support Association of New Mexico (PCSANM).

The event will be at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE, 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. It will be the first in-person conference since 2019. Anyone interested may attend in person or remotely via Zoom.
Dr. Damara Kaplan, a urologist with the New Mexico Cancer Center, will open the conference with a talk about diagnosis and staging, essentially the first steps along prostate cancer’s treatment path.
Dr. Thomas Schroeder, a radiation oncologist with the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center, will focus on local treatment of the cancer contained within the prostate gland.
The final speaker, Dr. Jose Avitia, medical oncologist, with New Mexico Cancer Center, will focus on cancer that has spread throughout the body and disease that reoccurs following initial treatment.
