Rio Rancho Police are investigating the death of a man found with multiple gunshot wounds.

RRPD Sgt. Peter Rogahn said officers were called to Gateway Park, near the intersection of Unser and Black Arroyo boulevards, about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. They found a 21-year-old man dead.

“The male appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” Rogahn said in an email. “The autopsy report has not yet been completed, so the cause and manner of death are not yet confirmed.”

He said investigators are treating the death as suspicious.
