Points for Health, a relaxation-based clinic in Corrales, celebrated its official grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday.
Dr. Julia Wood, who uses a holistic practice philosophy, runs the clinic and uses several methods, including acupuncture, herbal medicines and cupping, to help patients.
She uses a combination of Asian and American practices to actually address the issues people are dealing with.
“I’m an acupuncturist, oriental medicine, East Asian medicine,” Wood said. “If you have a problem, I guarantee there’s a point for that. Everybody needs acupuncture. I don’t care whether you know it or not. It’s going to help headaches, stress, anxiety. I’ve done an attitude adjustment on somebody. Pain, menopause, you name it, I can help you.”
Several members of the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber were on hand at the ribbon cutting, including President and CEO Jerry Schalow. James Fahey, the mayor of the village of Corrales, was also at the ceremony. Both Schalow and Fahey welcomed Wood and her clinic to the village and wished her success in her venture.
