Rio Rancho Observer

In the interest of full disclosure, the Observer would like to let our readers know about a change in our landlord.
AMREP Southwest recently purchased the building where we rent an office. Our lease has several years left, and AMREP wanted to continue it.
The sale closed last week. So, our landlord is now an entity we occasionally cover.
We pledge to be careful to remain fair and objective in our coverage of AMREP and their homebuilding arm, Amreston Homes.
We’ll use the same standards for determining how and when to cover the company’s activities as we do everyone else’s, and not play favorites.
It may take a little extra thought and effort, but we know how important it is.
We’re starting that effort by making sure not to hide or appear to hide the new business relationship.
We’re humans like everyone else, so we have business and personal relationships and sometimes those relationships intercept with coverage.
That may be a little awkward sometimes, but we’ll all deal with it.
We’re planning for a mutually beneficial relationship with AMREP as landlord and tenant.
We just wanted to be transparent and make sure our readers know about the change.
