Louise Mancuso of Rio Rancho, N.M., wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt, niece, age 79 and half, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on March 20, 1940, to Anthony Joseph Mancuso from Buffalo, N.Y., and Grace Mancuso, maiden name Simeone, from Chicago, Ill. In her early years Louise was a gifted athlete.
After graduating from Bishop Quigley High School, she went into the convent. Leaving about seven years later, she went to California, Hawaii and Germany.
While living in Wisconsin, she cared for the elderly in their homes. She was an artist, author and poet. She was a member of Wisconsin Regional Writer’s Association, Mind’s Eye Radio, The International Women’s Writing Guild, Southwest Writers Group and the Visionary Arts & Crafts Guild.
She was published in “Earth’s Daughters,” “Common Lives/Lesbian Lives,” “Rosebud,” “Women of the 14th Moon,” “Wisconsin River Valley Journal” and others. She was also a co-editor for “Wisconsin River Reprints.”
She enjoyed gardening and watching birds from the sunroom. She participated in Albuquerque, N.M., Senior Olympics in talent and pistols.
She is survived by her partner of 23 years and wife of one week, Sue E. Hoff of Rio Rancho, N.M.; brother, Neal A. Mancuso; two uncles, Carmen Simeone and Father Benedict Simeone OFM; 21 first cousins; numerous second cousins; and nephews and nieces.
Louise and Sue traveled to Wyoming, Ohio, Florida, South Dakota, Texas, Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, Minnesota, California and New Mexico, finally settling in New Mexico.
Louise will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
