David Grant Patterson, age 73, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, with his wife, Pat, at his side.

David was born in Detroit, Mich., to Patricia R. Barraco and William K. Patterson.

David is survived by his wife, Patricia Clickner-Patterson, along with two daughters and granddaughters Carolyn and Rylee, and Michelle and Trisha. He is also survived by a brother, Richard Patterson, and two sisters, Maureen Patterson Fuchs and Tina Chmielewski Kochan, and several nieces and nephews.

David joined the Navy at the tender age of 17 in 1964 and retired as chief petty officer 21 years later in 1985. Along with several other jobs, he worked for Keiwit in Corpus Christi, Texas, and retired in 2012 to New Mexico to be closer to family.

David met his wife, Pat, in New Mexico, and they shared a love for travels on back roads in their RV and camping.

Together they explored the western states of the U.S. and many national parks and state parks. Their favorite was Sugarite State Park in New Mexico, spending many summers there.

David is loved and will be greatly missed by his wife and family and friends. Farewell, Honeybear.

David was buried Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, in the national cemetery in Santa Fe at 2:15 p.m. with full military honors.
