Over the Christmas weekend, 15 people reported their tires had been slashed in western Rio Rancho.

Christie Hills, who lives off Lema Rd., had to come up with $1,000 to pay for her truck’s damage, right after Christmas.

“This is unacceptable,” she said.

Hills says the tow truck driver had to pick up 22 cars on Monday, Dec. 26, and Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Rio Rancho Police Deputy Chief Andrew Rodriguez said officers responded to several property-damage calls over the weekend but had not made any arrests yet, as of Monday morning.

Ring cameras and security cameras caught three or four teenagers doing the act.

“I do believe these kids need to be caught and held accountable for their actions. The parents should hold their kids accountable as well,” Hills said.
