Around 8:50 p.m.  Thursday, the Corrales Fire Department responded to several calls about a fire near Applewood Road.

Fire Commander Tanya Lattin said it was an outdoor fire that spread onto several properties. It is unclear how the fire started but it is still under investigation. Multiple agencies worked with CFD to contain the fire and prevent more damage.

“We kept people on it all night,” Lattin said. “Luckily, the winds weren’t there.”

Lattin said a hay barn, multiple sheds, trees and fence lines were burned but there were no damages to any homes and no animals or people were injured.
