New Mexico saw fewer than 1,000 daily COVID cases for the second time in three days.

According to data from the state Department of Health, there were 999 new cases on Thursday. The state reported 710 new cases on Tuesday.

Sandoval County reported 81 new cases on Thursday, with ZIP code 87124 (Rio Rancho) reporting 31 new cases.

Sandoval County also reported zero new deaths on Thursday. Statewide, there were 17 new deaths — making it back-to-back days the state saw fewer than 20 new deaths.

There are 427 people hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 as of Thursday. The state’s test positivity rate Thursday was 13.3 percent, and the total number of statewide cases went up to 506,348.
