SANTA FE — Rio Rancho ranked sixth in the state for total cannabis sales in the latest report.
That’s about where the city has ranked since recreational pot was approved in the state in April.
The city reached $739,068.55 in sales of medical cannabis for the month of September, according to the Cannabis Control Division of the Regulation and Licensing Department.
In adult recreational sales, the city hit $722,146.98 for the month.
Overall, the Cannabis Control Division of the Regulation and Licensing Department reported that during the month of September, licensed retailers around the state sold more than $39 million in adult-use and medical cannabis combined.
In September, adult-use cannabis sales topped over $24 million.
The state’s population centers of Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, and the town of Hobbs near the Texas border saw the highest sales numbers, with Sunland Park also posting high sales numbers, rounding out the top five by total sales.
