Three New Mexico United supporters groups are working together to raise funds and awareness for the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico through a Prideraiser.

The fundraiser asks people to pledge a dollar amount for each goal New Mexico United scores in the month of June with all proceeds going to TGRCNM. The Transgender Resource Center supports “transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming communities through direct services, education, and advocacy.”

The supporters groups that joined Prideraiser are Galactic Ambassadors, The Curse and Black Diamonds. The annual fundraiser aims to raise money and awareness for an LGBTQ+ organization during Pride Month.

Galactic Galactic Ambassadors co-founder and former president of The Curse Jake Gutierrez said the groups chose to support Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico this year to show solidarity with our trans friends and family members who are the target of anti-trans legislation and transphobia.

“They’re a great organization who serves the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho metro area, as well as the state of New Mexico as a whole,” Gutierrez said. “This is the first year New Mexico SGs have joined forces on a Prideraiser campaign and have so far received pledges of $143 per goal.”

Gutierrez said the Galactic Ambassadors, The Curse and Black Diamonds are participating in the Prideraiser to show love and solidarity for their transgender friends and family as transphobia and anti-trans legislation are on the rise.

“To our friends in the trans community, we see you, we support you, we will yell and scream for our favorite soccer team with you, and we will fight like hell alongside you against the bigots threatening your existence and the legislators challenging your rights,” Gutierrez said.
