Children will have a chance to meet a New Mexico United player Tuesday at Esther Bone Library.
Las Cruces native and veteran United defender Josh Suggs will be at the library from 2-3 p.m. to read to children and sign autographs.
New Mexico United played a U.S. Open Cup match at Rio Rancho High School in April with 1,680 fans braving miserable, frigid and windy weather to watch the match.
“I love it. I wish we could export every game around the state,” United owner Peter Trevisani said after the game. “We’re so grateful Rio Rancho said yes and made the stadium available. We got a great turnout. Rio Rancho is part of New Mexico, and New Mexico United is part of Rio Rancho.”
