The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) New Mexico and NAMI Albuquerque, thanks to a grant from the Bernalillo County Health Initiative, are offering weekly online support group meetings for individuals age 18 and older who are family members or friends of someone with a mental-health condition.
NAMI support groups are facilitated by trained family members and follow a structured model to ensure everyone has an opportunity to be heard and supported.
The meetings happen via Zoom in English on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10-11:30 a.m. Meetings in Spanish are on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 6-7:30 p.m.
Zoom will be started 30 minutes early to give participants time to connect.
Participants will benefit from each others’ experiences, discover their inner strength and empower themselves by sharing their experiences in a non-judgmental space.
In order for facilitators to maintain group dynamics, space will be limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To register for an invitation to Zoom meetings, visit: namialbuquerque.org/join-family-support or naminewmexico.org/join-family-support.
