Enchanted Hills Elementary School had a special visitor Thursday.
Buckshot, a monster truck competing at the Toughest Monster Truck Tour this weekend at the Rio Rancho Events Center, was on display in the school’s parking lot, much to the delight of students.
The truck’s appearance was part of a prize won by first grader Jayden Dean from a drawing done by 100.3 The Peak. Dean also won tickets to Friday night’s show for him and his family.
The show started early for Dean and his classmates as driver Brandon Budd showed off his truck and answered questions from Teresa Goff’s first-grade class before the rest of the school got a peek at the truck.
Dean was applauded and hugged by classmates as Goff announced that Buckshot was here because Dean won the contest. Dean then took pictures with Budd, Jackie, Tony and Ryan from The Peak’s popular morning show, Enchanted Hills principal Jennifer Bartley and EHE mascot, Molly the Mustang.
The Toughest Monster Truck Tour has shows Friday and Saturday night at the Events Center beginning with a Pit Party at 5:30 p.m. Friday at 4 p.m. Saturday. The main event starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are still available.
