Editor:

Having just read N.M. Sen. Craig Brandt’s editorial (Aug. 23 “Gov. does not follow science…”), I have a question for the senator.

Where is your scientific proof that it is safe to gather indoors in restaurants, churches, etc.? Cases spiked dramatically in Georgia when they opened schools, restaurants, etc., and they had to shut down again.

This is not a letter to defend the governor; this is a request to the senator to supply for his viewpoint the same kind of evidence that he seeks.

The threat to public health is real, and we all must do our best to be responsible. Unsubstantiated criticism does nothing to promote health and well-being for his constituents.
