After reading the beautifully done publication, “City of Rio Rancho: 40 years of the vision,” I saw for the first time mention of Pat D’Arco and learned that he was a 1990-94 mayor.

I once asked two people who were long-time residents of Rio Rancho if they knew who he was.

They immediately agreed that he was a disagreeable person.

Are there any other residents who would like the name of our NM 528 returned to “Rio Rancho Boulevard?”

That is, after all, exactly what the road is, and some businesses still give their location as on Rio Rancho Road.

Avoiding any political choice would make the change easier for everyone.
