This year Christmas will come early for 12 New Mexico children who are battling critical illnesses in New Mexico.
“We are invested in this community and I am glad to be a part of it,” Senior Pastor of Legacy Church Steve Smothermon said.
Legacy Church raised $120,100 to help grant these wishes and they continue to be the largest church donor to Make-A-Wish in the country.
“For almost 20 years, the members of Legacy Church have given an incredible Christmas gift to Make-A-Wish New Mexico by funding all of our Christmastime wishes. This congregation truly makes wishes a reality through their generosity. Make-A-Wish New Mexico is blessed to receive the continued support of Legacy Church,” President & CEO of Make-A-Wish New Mexico, Sara Lister, said.
The wishes being granted this holiday season include travel to Hawaii and Disney World, as well as a camper, an ATV, Xbox gaming system, and a trip to meet the Denver Broncos.
“Wishes are more than a singular moment in time, they provide a child with hope. And, the gift of hope gives them the strength to continue to fight in their medical journey. Legacy Church’s gift during the Christmas season makes a huge impact on our organization,” Lister said.
