Kristen Warren has accepted the position as Acting District Ranger for the Kiowa and Rita Blanca National Grasslands (KRB), Cibola National Forest & National Grasslands.

Warren’s 120-day detail began June 21st and follows the retirement of longtime District Ranger Mike Atkinson, according to an announcement from the Kiowa and Rita Blanca NGs Ranger District Office..

Warren is the wildlife biologist on the KRB. She started in the Forest Service as a seasonal wildlife tech on the Gila NF and has been a permanent employee on the KRB for seven years. Kristen has
worked on key projects such as Playa wetland restoration, black-tailed prairie dog population monitoring, annual Outdoor Education days, and the Aquatic Organism Passage in Mills Canyon.
