The 2018 murder of Dawn Sandoval, from Rio Rancho, was included in the Oxygen True Crime show “Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins” in an episode titled, “Murdered by Morning,” which aired July 2.

The episode goes over her life before she died and the events leading up to her death.

Sandoval’s friends were interviewed in the episode, and they piece together how she met her husbands.

In 2018, Sandoval County police investigated Sandoval’s disappearance. Evidence pointed to her ex-husband Michael Encinias. The 46-year-old woman was reported missing by family on April 16. She was found burned in a remote area at the very end of Southern Blvd. on May 6.

The episode also includes evidentiary videos as well as interviews and an investigation with Encinias.

Due to decomposition, the Office of the Medical Investigator could not determine how Sandoval died but ruled her death a homicide.

Her family waited for months after reporting her missing, and after a long investigation, police arrested Encinias in November 2018.

According to the report, Sandoval and Encinias were married for 19 years. They got a divorce after Sandoval found him cheating on her.

He was found guilty of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Encinias’ sentence totaled 18 years in jail followed by two years of probation.
