Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa announced Thursday its “Summer Sips” tasting series will continue for at least the next two months.

The popular events have been held this summer and will continue in August and September. At the events, attendees taste a variety of Southwest-inspired spirits curated by the resort’s team.

“Our talented food and beverage team here at Hyatt Regency Tamaya is dedicated to providing guests with extraordinary experiences rooted in the rich flavors of the Southwest,” said Chrisie Smith, director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. “Following the success of our ‘Summer Sips’ tasting series in June and July, Hyatt Regency Tamaya is thrilled to continue providing guests and local residents with the opportunity to sample a variety of unique spirit selections throughout the summer.”

The “Summer Sips” schedule will include the following events:

  • Hyatt Regency Tamaya presents a tasting of four exceptional varieties of sotol from the Flor del Desierto distillery in Chihuahua, Mexico. Distinct from tequila and derived from the Dasylirion plant, sotol boasts a smoky, less sweet taste that captures the essence of the desert. The sotol tasting events will take place on from 3-3:45 p.m. Aug. 5,  Sept. 2 and Sept. 30 from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
  • The resort will feature a curated selection of locally crafted brews. At the event, attendees will learn about the brewing process and gain insight into what makes New Mexico’s brewing traditions special. Hyatt Regency Tamaya partners with local breweries such as Marble Brewery to showcase their finest creations. The craft beer tasting will take place from 3-3:45 p.m. Aug. 12 and Sept. 2.
  • Hyatt Regency Tamaya’s team will educate attendees on the various types and styles of spirits and provide Southwest inspired cocktail recipes that can be recreated at home. Guests and local residents can attend a spirit tasting from 3-3:45 p.m. Aug.19 from 3 p.m. and Sept. 16.
  • Attendees can learn about the intricate process behind the creation of tequila and discover a selection of tequila from La Gritona, a women-owned distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. Guests and local residents can attend a tequila tasting from 3-3:45 p.m. Aug. 26 and Sept. 23.

The price of each tasting event is $50 plus 22% service charge and tax. Reservations are required by 11 p.m. on the day prior to the event and can be made online.
