The Albuquerque National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather warning for today into tonight because high winds could reach 60 mph.

“It’s definitely windy out there NM but it’s going to get much windier through the early afternoon hours,” they said.

Unfortunately, the wind is not the only extreme conditions happening later today. There is a chance of rain and snow.

Today 
There is a chance of rain showers before 11am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 11 am and 2 pm, then a slight chance of snow showers after 2 pm. Areas of blowing snow after 11am. Areas of blowing dust after 11am. It will be cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 50 and a low around 25. Windy, with a west wind 30 to 35 mph increasing to 40 to 45 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
