High Times magazine is teaming up with New Mexico’s Fusion Promotions and 101.3 The Hustle to bring Method Man and Redman in concert to the Rio Rancho Events Center for the first live Cannabis Cup Award Show since 2020.

The concert will be Sept. 4 at the Rio Rancho Events Center and will feature the announcement of the winners of the inaugural Cannabis Cup New Mexico.

Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster. This event will close out the first-ever High Times Cannabis Cup New Mexico, a competition where more than 2,000 New Mexicans sample and rate the best cannabis products in the state across 11 categories with more than 185 entries competing for the trophy.

“This is a return to High Times’ roots, and we’re thrilled to bring our history of culturally relevant events to an emerging market such as New Mexico. We’re incredibly proud to partner with Method Man and Redman to take the state’s first-ever Cannabis Cup to the next level,” Mark Kazinec, vice president of High Times Events and Competitions,  said. “We’ve received so much love from New Mexico, and judging kits are flying off shelves. We’re returning that love and going all out at Rio Rancho and making High Times history in New Mexico. We’re going to showcase the amazing local products and creativity of New Mexico’s cannabis industry and party like it’s 2019.”

High Times Cannabis Cup New Mexico launched statewide June 17, and more than 2,000 New Mexican cannabis fans have the opportunity to sample locally grown products and crown their favorites based on factors like aesthetic, aroma, smoothness, taste and more. The competition features 11 different categories to judge, including indica, sativa and hybrid flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, gummies and more. Judging kits are still available for purchase at select retailers while supplies last. Judges have nearly 60 days to tally their scores before the winners are announced during the award ceremony of New Mexico Cannabis Cup Live.

Ticket prices range from $50-$200. Cannabis Cup judges will receive a 30% discount off any ticket (which can be applied to two tickets), and participating brands can receive 40% off VIP row tickets (which can be applied on up to 8 tickets). Additional discounts are available to cannabis industry professionals based in New Mexico. Doors will open at 3 p.m., the Cannabis Cup Award Ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by opening artists at 7:30 p.m. and Method Man and Redman performing at 9 p.m.
